Where do I start to learn C#?

I want to learn C#. I took a programming cl in high school and was exposed to a little C. I want to learn where I can create GUIs, and not in DOS. A programmer friend of mine said I should have a knowledge of .net and OOPS. Is Microsoft a good site? Thanks!
