Narration: How would you feel if I...?

You mean switching to first person from the fathers POV? Or going to third limited (staying in 3rd person but only showing what the father sees and experiences). I think switching to first person suddenly would be a little wierd and disruptive to the story. You'd have to have a really good reason for doing it. If you decide to just switch to 3rd limited, that's a much less severe jump for readers and its going to be easier for them to accept without having to consciously think about it. I've never seen a book (I don't think) where the author jumps from 3rd to 1st person, and I think it would bother me a little bit. I guess its all about how you execute it though. If you can make the transition smoothly and you have a good reason for doing it, I suppose it could work.
